U.S Open Champion Set To Tee Off At The Quinn Direct British Masters

Michael Campbell, New Zealand’s top golfer and European Tour Golfer of the Year (2005), has announced that he will compete for this years’ Quinn Direct British Masters title.
US Open and HSBC World Match Play Champion Campbell will arrive at The De Vere Belfry after his strongest professional season. Ranked 15 in the world, the 37 year old Brighton resident will line up against the world’s best including European Tour Number Three (2005), Paul McGinley, and Darren Clarke, ranked 27 in the world.

Other past and present Ryder Cup stars look set to join them from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 May to compete for the £1.8 million prize fund.

Andrew ‘Chubby’ Chandler, Managing Director of promoters International Sports Management said; “Michael had an incredible past twelve months. His US Open win over Tiger Woods was sensational and we very much look forward to welcoming him at The Quinn Direct British Masters.”

The Quinn Direct British Masters 2006 will take place at The De Vere Belfry in the West Midlands, which has been four-time host to the Ryder Cup. This event will see the return of top level European Tour golf to the venue along with many of its biggest stars
