The 2008 Tented Village

The Tented Village


The 2008 Quinn Insurance British Masters has now taken place. The 2008 Tented Village housed a range of retail outlets including sports goods retailers, an official bookmaker and a Belfry store/custom fit area. In addition there were several catering outlets serving different types of food including burgers, fish & chips and pork roasts. Healthy options were available from the Continental Café, which was located within the village, including salads, jacket potatoes and sandwiches.

Entertainment at the Event


Entertainment was also high on the agenda in the Tented Village with the big screen and scoreboard being situated at the heart of the village. Also present was an interactive games mobile hub unit from EA Sports, a putting green and a longest drive simulator for you to tee it up at the event too. At the Golf Foundation exhibition unit, children started on their way to becoming the next Darren Clarke, or adults and children alike could have lessons with The Belfry pros on the inflatable driving ranges.

Ladies Day


Friday 26th September was Ladies’ Day at the Quinn Insurance British Masters, with special activities going on in the village on that day.

Timetable


The Tented Village was open from 10am - 5pm during the Pro-Am on Wednesday 24th September and 8.30am - 6pm for the rest of Tournament.

Information Centre


The Quinn Insurance British Masters Information Centre, situated within the Tented Village, offered assistance with general enquiries at the event.

Marcus Trescothick Book Signing


Marcus Trescothick did a book signing in the Tented Village on Sunday 28th September from midday to 1pm.

Mobile Phones


Mobile phones can distract players and were not be permitted within the event. Please do not bring your phone to the course.

Cameras


Cameras were not permitted on Championship days.

Step Ladders


Step ladders or similar were not permitted within the event and should not be brought to the course.

Pets


No pets were allowed at the course and we respectfully suggested that you should leave your pet at home.

Safety


Please be reminded that under wet conditions the ground may become slippery and appropriate footwear should be worn. Spectators should always wear sun protection and drink plenty of fluids in hot and sunny conditions.

Inclement Weather


In the event of inclement weather, it could have been necessary to evacuate the grandstands and instructions from marshals should have been observed.

Creche Facility


Unfortunately, we were unable to provide this facility for children of the general public given the size of the crowds.
Ladies Day Offers

On the Green

A Cut Above

Grass cuttings and prunings from the course, along with other waste, are collected and composted. When fully degraded this compost material is an excellent source of organic matter, suitable for re-use on the golf courses.
